Founded and led by Bay Area interior designer Kelly Finley, Joy Street Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lives by transforming spaces. Joy Street partners with local community organizations that are on the front line helping those in need, including those who have experienced hardship, violence, or trauma. In 2021 the organization partnered with Ruby’s Place, an innovative nonprofit providing survivors of domestic violence and trafficking, with crisis services, shelter, counseling, children’s services. Joy Street renovated and designed three bedrooms, a living room, and bathroom, creating an inviting and warm environment with furniture donated by sponsors.

In fall 2022, Joy Street is seeking sponsors and donors for “House of Hope,” a seven-bed facility at Ruby’s Place that will provide emergency shelter for runaway and homeless youth (12-17). Finley, her team, and partners are undertaking the renovation and design of two kitchens, a dining space, and laundry area.
