Spring 2025

“These beauteous forms,
Through a long absence, have not been to me
As is a landscape to a blind man’s eye:
But oft, in lonely rooms, and ‘mid the din
Of towns and cities, I have owed to them,
In hours of weariness, sensations sweet…
In which the heavy and the weary weight
Of all this unintelligible world,
Is lightened.”
– Wordsworth, Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, in response to an oppressive era of industry, aesthetic movements drew inspiration from the beauty and nobility of nature. Now, channeling sources from Romanticism to Victoriana to Art Nouveau, new collections are bringing that sensibility into the modern interior, celebrating the wonders of the natural world.

Our Spring issue highlights this verdant design direction, from botanical spring launches that capture the effulgence of the Conservatory; to Green House, a new collection from Arte x Moooi inspired by the intersection of art and science; to artist Nadine Weatherstone’s earthy new wallcovering collaboration with Gregorius Pineo.

We also explore a resonant and stunning new installation by Black Artists and Designers Guild for the Cooper Hewitt Design Triennial that reflects on the history of home through the work of contemporary artists and makers of African descent.

May you, at least momentarily, find light in these sublime landscapes.

With warmth and gratitude,

The Henry team
