Summer 2026

“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”

Harvey Milk

Color is our visual perception of light.

Our eyes absorb a range of frequencies—from red to violet, low to high vibration—with each hue of the rainbow associated with progressively more elevated energy.

In our summer issue, we celebrate everyone striving to bring their higher selves to the world through positive and prismatic work. We showcase projects from designers and printers to painters and illustrators like Berlin-based illustrator Olaf Hajek, who brings a vibrant natural realm to life in his debut collaboration for Christopher Farr Cloth.

Writer and scholar Maile Pingel takes us on a delicious dive into the history of dominotiers, uncovering the fascinating history of wallpaper and the work of contemporary artists ensuring it thrives. San Francisco’s own color queen Chloe Redmond Warner shares an excerpt from her debut book, This Must be the Place, and we of course bring you the juiciest new collections of the season.

Our summer issue always coincides with San Francisco Pride, and the SFDC invites you to celebrate with us – read more in Giving Back.

We hope you’ll bring your radiant self!
