Elle Decor A-List

Elle Decor’s annual A-List is a celebration of some of the most creative voices working today, and the San Francisco design community is represented in the class of 2026 by Ken Fulk and NicoleHollis. Elle Decor notes of Fulk, “The designer of full-throated, one-of-a-kind, residential interiors and theatrical environments for restaurants, hotels, and private clubs is always in demand,” and of Hollis, “From her base on the West Coast, Hollis has done some of her most evocative work in Hawaii, where her affinity for dark wood and stone, graphic patterns, and organic materials turns every room into a retreat.”

2026 Julia Morgan Awards 

The Northern California Chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) established the biennial Julia Morgan Awards to recognize and celebrate architects and designers, artisans and builders, and students and patrons for their excellence in the contemporary practice and support of traditional and classical design.  This years honorees include San Francisco interior designers Suzanne Tucker and Jean Larette, with the Board of Directors Award for Patronage and Stewardship recognizing Ken Fulk for his superb transformation of National Historic Landmark Saint Joseph’s Church into the Saint Joseph’s Arts Society. It all starts with community,” said architect Michael J. Imber, sharing gratitude for a community “dedicated to beauty.” The ceremony took place June 5 in the historic beaux-arts Green Room at the War Memorial & Performing Arts Center.

The 1stDibs 50 

San Francisco shines in the 2026 1stDibs 50. The cohort of honorees, selected by the esteemed design and decorative arts site, includes Catherine Kwong, Geremia Design, Ken Fulk, Nicole Hollis, and Noz Nozawa.  What characterizes these talents, notes editorial director Tony Barzilay Freund? “Boundless creativity and an educated eye; a dash of daring and an abiding love for beautiful things, whose quality, craftsmanship and underlying stories can activate spaces and animate the lives of those lucky enough to live among them.”
